I visited with my grandchildren recently. They are tiny and they are precious to me. As I was sitting there with them on my lap, I asked them to sing to me and they sang “Jesus loves me” and it was positively Angelic! I am certain that there is no sweeter sound in all the world, that the voices of toddlers and small children singing that song. Of course, I taught them that song and they love to sing it and so do I. The thought that JESUS who is GOD loves me or anybody for that matter is amazing, isn’t it? That THE GOD of the Universe, Maker of Heaven and earth, Creator of all that is,would love me –a human, is mind-boggling. Humans, no matter what they accomplish in this life, are after all mere mortals, not GOD, and the finite abilities that we have a tendency to be proud of, are really not much compared to GOD’s handiwork. I am always humbled by the reality of tiny hands and tiny feet and tiny bodies but powerful voices that sing loud and clear, often at the top of their lungs, the absolute truth that Jesus does indeed love us all. It is written, “for GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on HIM, should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

There have been times in my life when I questioned this phrase from The Bible*, but I know it is always true. The society we live in has pumped so much propaganda into the public schools that have distanced children from their parents, that the very nature of our society has morphed. How do we, citizens, who believe in the foundation of a healthy society consisting of intact homes with a father [male] a mother [female] and children, push society back to a normalcy again?
My approach to this is to create websites and writings and blogs on the topic of the better life possible to those who have children. Children are blessings. It is true that sometimes they sap our strength and energy and even provoke us to the nth degree. However, what they give back to us is immeasurable. When they press their tiny noses against my nose, I am thrilled. When they play patty-cake with me, I am delighted. When they stand alone for even a fraction of a second for the first time on the way to learning to walk, I am so excited that I want to jump up and shout, but don’t for fear of scaring them into falling down. When infants smile their toothless grins at me, my heart soars because it means that little one recognizes me. As they grow, and they sit on my lap and want me to read to them, I think “how good life is”.. Those of you who think you do not have time for children are missing the greatest blessings of your life. Don’t miss the very purpose of your existence –reproducing yourself is what you owe your family and humanity collectively. IF that is not possible, then develop an interest in the children of others and sustain the relationships in a healthy nurturing way and of course, appropriate ways, so they are emotionally enriched and so are you.
* Genesis 49:25 is written, God speaking to Isaac, “Even by The God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by The Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven, above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, and blessings of the breasts and of the womb.
